Privacy Policy

Effective as of 9 October 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how SAVANA collects and uses the personal data of people who visit the website https://savana-games.eu and its language versions (the “Site”), place orders on it or contact us, as well as the rights they have. It has been drawn up in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (“GDPR”) and French Act No. 78-17 of 6 January 1978, as amended (the French Data Protection Act, “loi Informatique et Libertés”).

1. Controller

SAVANA, a société par actions simplifiée (French simplified joint-stock company) with share capital of 151 euros, registered with the Lille Métropole Trade and Companies Register (RCS) under number 883 775 504, whose registered office is at 30 boulevard du Général Leclerc, 59100 Roubaix (France).

2. Data collected

We only collect the data necessary for the purposes described below:

  • Orders: surname, first name, delivery and billing addresses, e-mail address, telephone number, content and history of orders, payment information (processed directly by our payment service providers; we do not have access to full bank card numbers).
  • Customer account (optional): e-mail address and the profile information you provide.
  • Contact and customer service: name, e-mail address, telephone number where applicable and the content of your messages.
  • Newsletter and marketing e-mails: e-mail address, language, interactions with our e-mails (opens, clicks).
  • Browsing: technical and browsing data (IP address, type of device and browser, pages viewed, products viewed or added to the basket, clicks on links to our retailers, source of the visit), collected by means of cookies and trackers (see section 8).
  • Quizzes and forms: answers to game recommendation quizzes and information submitted via the Site’s forms (for example the submission of a game project).

Mandatory data is indicated in the forms; if it is not provided, the corresponding request cannot be processed.

3. Purposes and legal bases

  • Management of orders, payment, delivery, returns, customer service and the legal guarantees – performance of the contract.
  • Bookkeeping, invoicing and compliance with our legal obligations – legal obligation.
  • Fraud prevention and security of the Site – legitimate interest.
  • Sending the newsletter and commercial offers – consent; for our customers, sending offers concerning products similar to those already purchased – legitimate interest, with the possibility of objecting at any time.
  • Audience measurement and improvement of the Site – consent, where required by the trackers used.
  • Personalised advertising and measurement of the effectiveness of our campaigns on social networks and search engines – consent.
  • Handling of requests to exercise rights – legal obligation.

We do not sell your personal data.

4. Recipients

Your data is intended for authorised SAVANA staff and, to the extent necessary, for our service providers acting on our behalf:

  • Site hosting and e-commerce platform: Shopify;
  • order preparation and logistics: Hive, as well as the carriers responsible for delivery;
  • payment: Shopify Payments and its partners, PayPal, Klarna;
  • e-mails and newsletter: Klaviyo;
  • recommendation quiz: RevenueHunt;
  • audience measurement and advertising: Google (Google Analytics, Google Ads, Google Tag Manager, Google Merchant Center), Meta (Facebook, Instagram), Snap (Snapchat), TikTok, as well as Pixamp for measuring clicks to our retailers.

Some of these advertising platforms act as joint or independent controllers for their own purposes; we invite you to consult their privacy policies.

Your data may also be disclosed to the authorities where required by law, or to an acquirer in the event of the transfer of all or part of SAVANA’s business, in compliance with this Policy.

5. Transfers outside the European Union

Some service providers (in particular Shopify, Google, Meta, Snap, TikTok, Klaviyo and PayPal) may process data outside the European Economic Area, in particular in the United States. These transfers are governed by an adequacy decision of the European Commission (including the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, for certified companies) or by the standard contractual clauses adopted by the European Commission.

6. Retention periods

  • Customer data: for the duration of the commercial relationship, then 3 years from the last purchase for marketing purposes.
  • Prospective customers and newsletter subscribers: 3 years from the last active contact (for example a click in an e-mail), or until you unsubscribe.
  • Invoices and accounting records: 10 years, in accordance with the French Commercial Code (Code de commerce).
  • Data needed to prove a contract or to manage guarantees: for the duration of the applicable limitation periods.
  • Cookies and trackers: 13 months maximum; the information collected through them is kept for 25 months maximum.
  • Requests to exercise rights: up to 6 years, depending on the applicable limitation period.

7. Your rights

You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing and portability of your data, the right to object (in particular, at any time, to direct marketing), the right to withdraw your consent at any time and the right to give instructions regarding what happens to your data after your death.

To exercise these rights, write to contact@savana-games.com or to SAVANA, 30 boulevard du Général Leclerc, 59100 Roubaix, France. We may ask you to prove your identity if there is reasonable doubt. We respond within one month, which may be extended by two months for complex requests. You can also unsubscribe from our e-mails at any time via the link included in each of them.

If, after contacting us, you consider that your rights have not been respected, you may lodge a complaint with the CNIL, the French data protection authority (3 place de Fontenoy, TSA 80715, 75334 Paris Cedex 07 – www.cnil.fr), or with the data protection authority of your country of residence.

8. Cookies and trackers

When you browse the Site, cookies and trackers may be placed on or read from your device:

  • Strictly necessary cookies: operation of the Site, basket, payment, security, remembering your language, your country and your cookie choices. They do not require your consent.
  • Audience measurement cookies: statistics on visits to and use of the Site (Google Analytics).
  • Advertising and social network cookies: measuring the effectiveness of our campaigns and personalising advertisements (Google Ads, Meta, Snapchat, TikTok, Pixamp, Klaviyo).

Non-exempt audience measurement cookies and advertising cookies may only be placed with your prior consent, which you can withdraw at any time. You can also configure your browser to refuse or delete cookies: Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge. Refusing strictly necessary cookies may prevent certain features of the Site from working, such as placing an order.

9. Security

We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data against loss, unauthorised access or disclosure (encrypted HTTPS connection, restricted access, service providers offering sufficient guarantees).

10. Minors

The Site is intended for adults, in particular parents buying games for their family. We do not knowingly collect data concerning children under the age of 15 without their parents’ consent.

11. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy, in particular to take account of changes in regulations or in our services. The date of the latest update appears at the top of the page; in the event of a significant change, we will inform you by appropriate means.
